Dr. Cannon Cleaning Up

First and Last Patient

Dear Westbury Allergy Patients:

Today we celebrated the end of the Westbury Allergy chapter in our lives. On November 1, 1979, Dr Richard Cannon was seen in his office vacuuming the waiting room on opening day, so today I asked him if I could take a picture of him doing what he did on the first day...with the vacuum.

He was also surprised by Jerry Beatty, who was his very first patient and wanted to be his last patient. During those first months, when things were slow, Jerry and Wayne Leahy were known to hang out in the waiting room and play jokes on Dr. Cannon and they were known as the Saturday morning comedy group. Dr Cannon and Jerry posed for this picture late this afternoon right before Dr Cannon walked out of the office for the last time.

Dr. Cannon, you have helped so many people over these 38 years as an allergist and many more years before that as a pediatrician.
